Should marijuana be legal for medical and personal use (restricted like alcohol and cigarettes)?

In my opinion, in a free country, you can't have laws designed to protect people from themselves. You can't have big brother and freedom at the same time.

I would be OK flying in a plane with a pilot that smokes cigarettes, or drinks when he is not on duty.

I would not be OK flying on a plane with a pilot that smokes pot... ever.

Same goes for doctors, law enforcement, public officials, bankers, and several other positions.

If it is legal, then it has to be legal for everyone. And I dont want everyone smoking pot.

Not to mention is makes you stupid, and leads to other drugs.

MJ is legal for certain medical problems, i.e. glaucoma, effects of chemotherapy, etc. Will we ever see it approved for non-medical personal use, probably not. Because it is possible to abuse it........unlike alcohol which is impossible to abuse????????? If that makes sense to you please explain it to me. The major side effect of MJ is a desire for munchies.

alright, the person who said this is retarded. the person flying the plane wouldn't be high, they take drug tests before getting on the plane nor would any other people with high risk jobs
secondly, it wouldn't dumb down the country because alcohol is way worse, how many people are killed by high drivers each year?
thirdly it will never be legalized because just about anyone can grow it and the goverment won't be able to tax it.
