Should India STEAL drug patents?

They wait until a company like Merck produces a drug after years of research and millions in invesment to produce the drug, then they mass produce questionable copies and udercut Merck on the world market. Ethically, isn't this cheating?
Answer:
It's not cheating...its called theft.
Thats what Canada does and makes their drugs so much cheaper.
sure, why not, they stole a gazzillion jobs from the USA
It is, but to India... it is in their best interests to steal the drug and produce it generically at a far reduced price. All of the research are sunk costs, benefiting billions of people worldwide by producing the drug cheaply will bring no more costs to the medical corporations. I think there needs to be an incentive for medical companies to produce new drugs, but it is in the interests of India and many developing countries to disregard patents on drugs. Is it right for the drug companies to allow millions do die when they could easily save them for no extra cost? This is the debate, it is not just about intellectual property rights. It is cheating, but is it wrong? You decide. Protect corporate property rights or save billions.
yes the same as america stealing jet and nuclear tech and expertise from nazi germany same isn't it?
